Interview with a Graduate: Meet Diana

By February 12, 2026No Comments

Join us for a series of interviews with recent graduates of our Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide programs, where students discuss the impact of the program on their career paths and how it has changed their approaches to caregiving. This month, meet Diana Brent, an HHA graduate from 2025.

What inspired you to pursue a career as a caregiver, CNA, or home health aide?

To be a nurse and to take care of others.

How has completing the CNA/HHA training program prepared you for real-world caregiving?

Completing the HHA program helps to open more doors of opportunity.

Was there a particular class or hands-on skill that had the biggest impact on you?

Understanding that nothing is perfect in the medical field, and we all have seen our fair share of events – it’s not just a facility or “me” thing. Caring for others is challenging.

What skills-technical or personal – do you feel improved the most during your training?

My interpersonal dynamics with my patients and co-workers.

How has this program changed the way you approach caregiving?

Stick to the list of tasks and scope; always ask questions.

How do you feel the certificate will help you advance your career in healthcare or senior living/assisted living?

I feel that having an HHA certificate shows that I have initiative to keep learning.

What do you think makes The Art of Care Academy training program stand out from others?

Their years of experience.

What are your short-term career goals after graduation?

My short-term career goal after graduation is to work full-time at a great place.

What advice would you give future students entering this Home Health Aide or CNA program?

The advice I would give to future students is to stick to it. It takes time to fill up all the shifts you may need. Do great at what you have and keep going.

Is there a patient/resident/client who has had an impact on your life and career choices? If yes, tell us about them and your experience.

Many of my home care experiences have made me love and develop a passion for home care. I have been lucky.
